elder abuse
Michigan is providing free legal help to people age 55 and older who have experienced, or are at risk of, abuse, neglect or exploitation. These free legal services are available regardless of income, languages spoken or immigration status (with or without documentation).

The Elder Justice Initiative helps clients get protective orders, recover funds and property taken as a result of fraud or exploitation, and evict abusers who live with the victim. A full list of services provided is available on their website.

The victim does not have to report a crime or contact law enforcement in order to receive help. In Macomb County, please contact: Lakeshore Legal Aid - Mt. Clemens/Warren (888) 783-8190.

If you are new to estate planning and not sure where to start, contact us today for a free consultation.
